Khasi Delicacy: Meghalaya Jadoh

Discover the aromatic flavors of Meghalaya with traditional Jadoh enhanced with our Phoran Premium Garam Masala. This fragrant rice dish cooked with meat and spices is a celebration meal in Khasi culture.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 500g pork or chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 tbsp Phoran Premium Garam Masala
  • 3 tbsp mustard oil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 4-5 green cardamom
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander

Method:

1. Wash and soak rice for 30 minutes.

2. Heat mustard oil, add whole spices and bay leaves.

3. Add meat pieces and cook until browned.

4. Add onions, ginger-garlic paste, and Phoran Garam Masala.

5. Add tomatoes and cook until soft.

6. Add rice and enough water to cook.

7. Cover and cook until rice is done and meat is tender.

8. Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
