The Royal Dish of India: Chicken Biryani

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg Basmati rice
  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 tbsp Phoran Premium Biryani Masala
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 large onions, sliced and fried
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • Saffron soaked in warm milk
  • Fresh mint and coriander leaves

Method:

1. Marinate chicken with yogurt, 1 tbsp Phoran Biryani Masala, and salt for 2 hours.

2. Cook basmati rice with whole spices until 70% done.

3. In a heavy-bottomed pot, layer the marinated chicken and partially cooked rice.

4. Sprinkle remaining Phoran Biryani Masala, fried onions, and saffron milk.

5. Cook on high heat for 3 minutes, then simmer on dum for 45 minutes.
