Badam halwa is a rich, royal dessert made from almonds, ghee, and sugar. This melt-in-mouth delicacy is perfect for special Diwali celebrations and gifting!
Ingredients
- 1 cup Phoran Premium Almonds
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup ghee
- 1 cup milk
- 6-8 Phoran Premium Green Cardamom pods, powdered
- A pinch of saffron strands
- 2 tbsp warm milk (for saffron)
- Sliced almonds and pistachios for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Almonds
Soak Phoran Premium Almonds in hot water for 30 minutes. Peel the skin and grind to a smooth paste with milk.
Step 2: Prepare Saffron
Soak saffron in warm milk and set aside.
Step 3: Cook the Almond Paste
Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan. Add the almond paste and cook on low-medium flame, stirring continuously for 15-20 minutes until it thickens and changes color.
Step 4: Add Sugar and Spices
Add sugar and mix well. The mixture will become liquidy. Continue cooking and stirring until it thickens again. Add powdered Phoran Green Cardamom and saffron milk.
Step 5: Cook Until Done
Keep stirring and cooking until the halwa leaves the sides of the pan and ghee starts separating (about 10-15 minutes).
Step 6: Serve
Transfer to a greased plate or serve in individual bowls. Garnish with sliced almonds and pistachios.
