Chakli (or murukku) is a crispy, spiral-shaped snack that's a Diwali favorite. Adding Sunday Family Masala gives it a unique, flavorful twist that everyone will love!
Ingredients
- 2 cups rice flour
- 1/2 cup besan (gram flour)
- 2 tbsp Phoran Sunday Family Masala
- 1 tsp Phoran Ajwain
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 1 tsp Phoran Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp hot oil
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, mix rice flour, besan, Phoran Sunday Family Masala, ajwain, sesame seeds, chilli powder, turmeric, and salt.
Step 2: Add Hot Oil
Add 2 tbsp hot oil to the flour mixture and mix well. This makes chakli crispy.
Step 3: Knead
Add water gradually and knead into a smooth, pliable dough. It should be soft but not sticky.
Step 4: Shape Chakli
Fill the chakli maker with dough. Heat oil on medium flame. Press chakli directly into hot oil in spiral shapes. Fry 3-4 at a time.
Step 5: Fry Until Crispy
Fry on medium heat until golden and crispy. Flip once for even cooking. Drain on paper towels.
Step 6: Cool and Store
Cool completely and store in airtight containers for up to 3 weeks.
